Voices Against Tobacco
Guidelines for Story Submissions to Voices Against Tobacco

Submissions to the Voices Against Tobacco website should tell the story of victims of tobacco use, including those who have died or become sick because of tobacco use or exposure to secondhand smoke and also those who are struggling against tobacco addiction. Stories about efforts to get family members or friends to quit or not start are also appropriate. But none of the stories should include personal attacks on any named person. The goal here is to honor not to disparage or criticize. And all of the stories should be true and accurate.

Stories can be as long or short as you want, but we suggest keeping them to about 800 words of less (roughly a single page) to increase the chances that others will read all the way through them.

Stories can be written offline and cut and pasted into the Voices Against Tobacco website for posting.

Style and format are up to you. While the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids reserves the right not to post stories that go beyond the scope of the Voices Against Tobacco website or that contain obscenities, the Campaign will not edit, correct, or alter any stories prior to posting them. So it is probably a good idea to reread your story one last time before submitting it to check for typos or misspellings.
